Back Off, Big Business

RECEIVED Sun., Sept. 20, 2009

Dear Editor,
Where is the big government interference in my life? I've been looking for it, and I can't find it. I go to work. I pay my bills. But I don't work for the government, and all of my bills go to pay big business. Where is that big government interference everybody is shouting about? When I watch TV, I'm constantly interrupted by big business trying to sell me things I neither need nor want. When I check my mailbox, I'm constantly interrupted by big business mailing me junk mail to try to sell me things I neither need nor want. When I surf on the Internet, I'm constantly interrupted by advertising by big business trying to sell me things I neither need nor want. When I check my e-mail, I'm constantly interrupted by e-mail sent by big business trying to sell me things I neither need nor want.
Where is that big government interference everybody is talking about? I've looked and looked and looked. I guess maybe some day I'll find it, but until then would somebody please get big business off my back?
