Station Follows the Money

RECEIVED Fri., Aug. 7, 2009

Dear Editor,
Re: “Media Watch: Unwinding the Twine at KUT” [News, Aug. 7]. It's like the old joke: What's the difference between KUT and yogurt? Yogurt has a live culture. The only thing that really needs changing at our "public" radio station is the highly paid executive cadre. For them to presume that they and their committees know what's best for the people in Austin who foot the bills smacks a bit of those senators in Washington with their gold-plated health insurance decrying the cost of health care for the masses. I don't remember any attempt to ask the listeners' opinions on this. Our boys forced into retirement, maybe losing any benefits in the process? This is a most callous treatment of the folks that built this station from the ground up. (Merry Christmas, m***** f****r, you're fired.) Going forward – quickly – let's follow the money. That's where smarm tends to congeal.
