Dear Mr. Black, The city fathers (and mothers) did veterans a great disservice by closing off Congress at 8am on a day when most everyone Downtown had to get to work. When we returned from Vietnam, people jeered at us. It’s happening again. Veterans are taking the heat because of the ill-advised closure. If we want to push the New Urbanism agenda, then let's stop acting like small-town hicks. And please, Mr. Mayor and Mr. Traffic Engineer, don't do the political shuffle by telling us there will be a commission to investigate Downtown closures. A proper amends would be a moratorium on Downtown closures during workday rush hours.
