It's Not That He Shouldn't but That He Couldn't

RECEIVED Tue., Nov. 20, 2007

Dear Editor,
As I have said previously, I am not saying that the man [Ron Paul] shouldn't win, just that he cannot win [“Postmarks,” Nov. 16]. In a perfect world, money and power wouldn't matter. We would elect the person who has the best ideas for the country. I would respond that if you feel we live in a "true democracy," then I do provide an accurate description. This is how it is. Ron Paul is wasting millions of dollars of other people's money. This money could be spent supporting a candidate that may actually have a chance of winning. How many die-hard Republicans do you think are rooting for Ron Paul? You realize that is his party affiliation, don't you? This is a major difference between liberal/progressives and conservatives. Conservatives vote for whom has the best chance of winning; lib/progressives vote for whom they wish would win.
