Dear Editor,
In "Room to Ride on Shoal Creek" [“
Postmarks,” Sept. 14], Kenny Grossman, claiming to be a cyclist, is baffled by cyclists "outright" riding outside the bike lane on Shoal Creek Boulevard.
To that I have one response: 3 feet. Three feet on your right (to the nearest obstacle, including a car parked in a "bike lane"). Three feet on your left between you and the nearest car passing. Any less, and you take the lane. Period. Safety comes before convenience. Motorists who feel like telling you any different can stuff it you know where.
