Defending Imus' Rights

RECEIVED Mon., April 16, 2007

Dear Editor,
The real issue highlighted by the recent events surrounding Don Imus is that there is a vocal group of self-appointed guardians of the "right" to never be offended. They have the determination and the political and economic power to destroy the career of anyone who says something that they find offensive. I hope that Imus is hired by another company to continue his show. I was never a listener, but now I would make a point to listen to show my contempt for those overly sensitive, self-righteous people and the corporations such as NBC and CBS who caved in to their pressure to fire Imus.
