Austin Air America Station Much Improved

RECEIVED Wed., March 21, 2007

Dear Editor,
Several of us have written in the past about our local Air America station and its problems. I am happy to say that there have been notable improvements lately. The signal is much more reliable. The station's "clock" is only about 10 seconds off instead of 10 minutes, resulting in shows being chopped less during breaks. There are more local advertisements, and they have just added local news segments.
At the same time, the Air America program lineup is better than it was a year ago. My two favorite shows, The Thom Hartmann Radio Program and The Rachel Maddow Show are intelligent and easy to listen to.
My biggest complaint is that KOKE has chosen to play the good ol' boy whose voice sounds a lot like Rush Limbaugh, Ed Schultz, instead of Hartmann. Fortunately, you can get podcasts of Hartmann's show.
