Dear Editor, The U.S. military recovered the bodies Tuesday of two missing soldiers from an area it said was rigged with explosives. An Iraqi official said the Americans were tortured and killed in a "barbaric" way. I read this news story, and I think about the tortures at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo, the Danish cartoon that incited thousands to riot, the more than 2,700 innocents incinerated on 9/11, the 2,500 soldiers killed so far in Iraq and the so many thousands of others maimed for life in body and spirit, the Shi'a and Sunni Muslims killing each other because they read the Koran differently, Palestinians and Israelites blowing up each other over the same soil. I think about the kidnappings, the terrorist plots, the suicide bombings, the beheadings, the civilian massacres, the roadside attacks, the nonexistent WMD in Iraq ... and then I think that it's us – Americans, Iraqis, Iranians, Palestinians, Israelites, Afghanis, Africans – who are the true weapons of mass destruction. And I think at the rate we’re going, we will be nonexistent.
