Dear Editor, I was shocked and disgusted by the cover of the Chronicle this week [“What Happened to the No-Kill Millennium?,” News, Nov. 18]. I realize that the story needs attention, but putting pictures of dead cats on the cover page is exploitative and appalling. Would you put a long line of dead human beings on the cover? No, because that would be considered in poor taste. I should at least have to open the paper up and flip through it before I'm forced to look at something so grisly and upsetting!
