God Speaks to Bush, but Is He Listening?

RECEIVED Tue., Aug. 23, 2005

Dear Editor,
George W. Bush, you said that God speaks to you. I agree, God is speaking to you right now, but are you listening? Standing at your front door and knocking is that which God has always sent. A nonrich, humble messenger for truth and peace. A person whose words clang like thunderbolts. A person who only seeks to heal the sick at heart and relieve the suffering of the powerless. A person who is motivated by love alone. A person that has rallied to masses. A person who has given a life in sacrifice based on a bundle of lies. And in the wake of this person's coming, your minions spew curses. Your powerful religious leaders lie and hair-split. Your underlings hide or try to appease.
And you ... you wish to "get on with your life." I guess you'd like to "wash your hands" of the whole mess and be rid of this person. Sound familiar?
