Best of Luck to AMN

RECEIVED Mon., Oct. 4, 2004

Dear Editor,
The editorial staff of the Statesman once again showed their jaded view of the Austin Music Network. Statesman Sept. 30, "Austin Music Network's demise is long overdue." AMN was recently awarded Best Local TV Programming by the Chronicle. Apparently, not all people who live here are "dismayed" by AMN. I'll miss the 24-hour music channel. It was a musical inspiration to me and many of my friends. I appreciate the hard work that Louis Meyers and his amazing staff have put into the channel in recent years. The Statesman definitely misses the mark when it comes to people who appreciate local talent. AMN convinced me and others to patronize our local music venues. AMN's amazing display of performances and videos by local talent will sadly no longer be promoted to the community that supports the local talent. Our resident musicians will surely miss the exposure they deserve from the city that profits from being the Live Music Capital! Best of luck to AMN and their arrangement with ACTV.
Long live AMN,
Kelly Richardson
