It Is Time for Peace and Justice

Dear Sirs,
We lost the Vietnam War, and we are losing the war in Iraq. We lost 50,000 U.S. lives in Vietnam and killed millions more. We are going to lose the war in Iraq with far worse consequences. We could end up with most friendly Arab governments (although authoritarian) falling to religious extremists. What if Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan, Syria, future Palestine, Indonesia, and others become Islamic extremist states who hate us? Will Europe back us? Will they say no to a world war that could last hundreds of years and end up destroying our planet? Would they join us in killing millions of Muslims for another phony Christian crusade that perverts the very name and idea of Christ?
My belief in Christ is one of peace and tolerance, which supports war only in defense. The theft of oil or for religious differences are not justifiable reasons for war. Nor are imaginary weapons of mass destruction previously destroyed. Since we put so many of the world's dictatorships in place we can't even use that for an excuse. We must stop worshipping war as if it were some kind of sports game or holy event. We can support the United Nations, the World Court, and Amnesty International as a way to bring justice to our planet.
