Attacks on Kerry Dishonor All Soldiers

RECEIVED Mon., Aug. 23, 2004

Dear Editor,
President Bush and the Republicans are at it again. During the 2000 campaign they questioned John McCain's war record to discredit him. Now in 2004 they're going after another of our war heroes – John Kerry. However, it's even more despicable now considering Bush has sent thousands of our sons and daughters to war ... with over 900 dead and many, many more disabled by injuries. What message are they sending our soldiers? You serve your country, risk your life ... but when (and if) you return, you may still have to defend your heroism. How many medals must you earn to deserve the respect and honor of the right? What hypocrisy coming from a president who didn't see a day of combat during Vietnam, who never faced an enemy or risked his life to defend our country. For once, Bush needs to stand up and say, "This is just wrong." If not, he is showing the worst kind of disrespect to our veterans and our soldiers currently fighting in his war.
Is this how he supports our troops?
