Dear Editor, I was one of the 1,000 people who showed up for last Monday's CAMPO board meeting. I'm still dumbfounded that our representatives chose not to represent the people ["Road Foes: Down, but Not Out," News, July 23]. Even worse, a state senator and our City Council couldn't find a room big enough for the meeting. Must have been because they didn't want to face 1,000 angry citizens when they voted (thanks to Rep. Todd Baxter, we know that the LBJ Library was available, although other CAMPO members said they called UT and were told it wasn't available). Yeah, I'm amazed these guys couldn't find a room, and they got to vote on a $2.2 billion plan. The politicians think that people like me are against the plan because we don't want toll roads in our backyard. That's not it. We don't want toll roads on roads that have been paid for by tax dollars. Double taxation stinks!
