Maybe Tomorrow Will Be Better

RECEIVED Tue., July 6, 2004

Dear Editor,
An old friend of mine came into town this past weekend for the first time in 10 years and was shocked by how dense everything has become. After seeing Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 we went for a walk and discussed the nature of human greed and how it is always softened in appearance by smiles, handshakes, and good old-fashioned lies. The university area fairly glowed with traffic and neon in the cool mist of a pleasant summer night, and as we walked to catch a bus home we were shocked to see the ground open up to the gates of hell, and a million million demons fell into it in one great burst of boiling flesh. Still, it wasn't enough, not according to this morning's newspaper. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Peace out,
Todd Alan Smith
