Dear Editors In 2000, Ralph Nader failed to win 5% of the popular vote, failed to qualify for matching federal election funds, and failed to form a coalescing national party around him. In all manner and means as a presidential candidate, Nader is a failure. The only thing Nader manages to do successfully is thwart the chances of Democrats. So why not fail to cover his 2004 candidacy? He can only continue to be a successful spoiler, because news organizations such as The Austin Chronicle give him a forum to do so ["Blaming It on Ralph, Again," News, Feb. 27]. At the very least, if you continue to give Nader a megaphone to siphon Democratic votes, why not find a corollary, a right-wing conservative vote siphoner, and amplify his prevalence with headlines and stories for the sake of equal time.
