Dear Austin Chronicle, The Texas Association of School Psychologists had its annual professional development conference in Austin this last week. Every conference, we have a service project for the local area. Any Baby Can was the organization that was the recipient of this project. I want to thank Sara Hickman for coming and talking to our membership about the importance of the emotional and mental health of our children. Indeed, she reminded us that all children are ours. It was good to be reminded that the needs of our kiddos are met by the families, the schools, and the community at large. I and the rest of our organization are very grateful that Sara Hickman is so active in helping meet these needs. She not only contributed in her words and music to our conference and Any Baby Can, she donated sales money from her CDs at our conference to Any Baby Can. I would like to remind all who read this that our project is through the month of October, but the fact of the matter is, this project should be on our minds every day. Thank you, again, Sara, you show your love and commitment every day. Thank you, Any Baby Can, for your dedication to children in need, and their families.
Sincerely, Francis Chen Licensed Specialist in School Psychology Children's Assistance for Living Committee Chair (2002-2003) Texas Association of School Psychologists
