The Austin Chronicle Holiday Gift Guide 2024

The gift of a good time

Art by Zeke Barbaro

Do we need more stuff in our lives? Probably not, but sometimes “stuff” can be the building blocks for a great time. We’ve assembled this year’s gift guide with just that in mind, with ideas for going out, staying in, chilling out, and getting our hands a little dirty with a craft project. We’ve tried to highlight Austin artists and makers and homegrown businesses, but you’ll find even more represented at the many holiday markets around town; check out p.42 for a list of those markets. Finally, Austin nonprofits need an awful lot of “stuff” too. Every year we highlight their needs in our Wish List roundups. Starting in next week’s issue, we’ll feature those roundups in print through December, but if you’re ready to start donating now, you’ll find everything you need at austinchronicle.com/wish-list.

A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
