The route from Saint-Jean-De-Maurienne to Annonay Davézieux is the longest stage in the Tour this year. It is a total of 226 km (140 miles) with two category-1 climbs and one category-3 climb.

Tour de France 2012: Stage 11
Stage 11 begins in Albertville and finishes in La Toussuire-Les Sybelles, at 148 km (92 miles). It is nearly all climbs, with scarcely any flat ground. It starts with two hors categorie climbs, one category-2 climb, and one category-1 climb.

Tour de France 2012: Stage 10
The 10th stage of the Tour begins in Mâcon and ends 194.5 km (121 miles) later in Bellegarde-sur- Valserine. This stage has three climbs; one category 2, one Hors Categorie (which means "insane death climb" in French, just trust me), and a final category-3 climb.

Being a time-trial stage, today's route is a lot shorter than normal at 41.5 km (26 miles). The stage begins in Arc-et-Senans and ends in Besançon.

Today's race begins in the Champagne capital of France, Épernay, all 207.5 km (129 miles) to the town of Metz (not the Champagne capital of France, and therefore not worth describing).

Stage 5 begins where yesterday's stage left off, in the town of Rouen. It will finish in Saint-Quentin for a total of 196.5 km (122 miles).

Tour de France 2012: Stage 3
Stage 3 is the first stage of the 2012 Tour de France actually in France. So already we've accomplished something. The stage runs from the northwestern town of Orchies to the even further northwestern town of Boulogne-sur-mer. The distance is 197 km (122 miles) in length, with several climbs in the category 3 and 4 range.

Tour de France 2012: Stage 2
Mondya's stage is in Belgium, starting in Visé and finishing in Tournai. The total distance of the stage is 207.5km (129 miles). An incredibly flat stage, save for one category-4 climb around the middle of the stage, but nothing big enough to trip up the anxious sprinters, of which there are many this Tour.
