Indie Game Celebration Fantastic Arcade Returns
The Fun Size edition comes to the Baker Center in October

Some fantastic news – quite literally. Indie gaming fest Fantastic Arcade is returning after a five-year hiatus with a special Fun Size edition.
Launched in 2010 as a section of Fantastic Fest, Fantastic Arcade gave film fans attending the main fest a chance to decompress and geek out on some incredible indie and alternative games in between movies. It spun off into its own event in 2017, then joined forces with the Museum of Human Achievement in 2019. Then, as affected so many events, the pandemic derailed all future plans. There have been some virtual events and Twitch streams since then, but not a full-blown in-person event.
However, like that favorite old game that’s lurking by your console, the organizers have blown off the port and relaunched this indie gaming favorite. Produced by MOHA, sponsored by animation studio and game developer Mighty Coconut (Walkabout Mini Golf), and curated by monthly gaming meetup Games Y’all, this Fun Size edition will take place Oct. 26 at the Baker Center, the creative industries hub in Hyde Park owned and operated by Alamo Drafthouse founders Tim and Karrie League.
