South Austin French-Vietnamese restaurant Elizabeth Street Cafe is hosting a Valentine’s Day giveaway for customers who purchase their new The Taste of Things film-inspired macaron box in collaboration with IFC Films.
The film, which opened in Austin last Friday, follows the love story of two chefs in 19th century France. Austin Chronicle film critic Richard Whittaker called it “an utterly charming and touching description of a tender relationship between two people in middle age.”
Customers who purchase a box will be entered into a raffle for two tickets to Alamo Drafthouse’s four-course French Feast Screening, which includes French staples like pot-au-feu and white wine-poached pears along with wine pairings. The winner will also receive a cookbook and apron inspired by the film. Elizabeth Street Cafe is open on Feb. 14 from 11am to 10pm and is located at 1501 S. First.
