Local sci-fi fantasy podcast seeks second season crowdfunding

Austin podcast production company Packhowl Media is looking for crowdfunding support for the second season of their sci-fi epic, The Madness of Chartrulean

Like many artists, Austin's creative community is increasingly turning to crowdfunding platforms to cover developmental costs. For potential backers, it can be hard to navigate all the sites out there, so we scour the web for local projects. Remember, do your own due diligence before you back anything.

Who’s raising the funds?

The Madness of Chartrulean, the “Oppenheimer-meets-Dune" epic from Austin-based independent production company, Packhowl Media. Producer and Packhowl Media Director Hannah Radcliff says she is committed to establishing a space for marginalized creators and independent audio fiction enthusiasts.

What’s the project?

Season two of The Madness of Chartrulean takes place in the fictional desert city of Idrica and follows the central character, Chartrulean, who is described as a “failed messiah.” The story’s protagonist is accompanied by both his protégé and princess as they confront a range of enemies including but not limited to technology, religion, war, and politics.

In addition to being a “captivating fusion of Shakespearean tragedy,” this sci-fi podcast also features an original score recorded by Austin’s very own Invoke string quartet. Houston based Aud Andrews brings to life the personality and complexity of Chartrulean alongside a cast of nearly 50+ voice actors.

Want to be properly caught up for the arrival of this thrilling sequel? You can find the first season of The Madness of Chartrulean on popular podcast streaming platforms and at chartrulean.com now.

Target?

Packhowl Media will be running this Kickstarter campaign now through October 1 in hopes of raising a total of $4,900 for needed production costs.

What are the perks?

By donating you could also earn the chance to be a part of the behind-the-scenes production process, VIP access to early releases, and limited merchandise available only to exclusive supporters.
