Show Us Your Scares!

Last chance to enter our home haunt and costume contest

We want to see your scares! Send us photos of your home haunt and you can win a monster pack of horror movies and memorabilia. (Photo by David Brendan Hall)

Time is ticking down to Halloween, and you've got even less time to enter our costume and yard display contest. So, no tricks: how's about we sweeten the deal with some extra treats for the horror-loving home haunters out there?

Yup, screens editor Richard Whittaker (that would be me) has reached into his own archives and put together a special prize pack for the best home haunt, featuring 13 extra-spooky films perfect to keep the chills going after All Hallows Eve, plus a bundle of horror-themed movie memorabilia, all straight from the archives. If that hasn't enchanted you enough, there's a special runner's up prize, grabbed straight from the DVD and Blu-ray stack with a couple of extra spooky (and extra-spooky) surprises in there.

Don't have a yard? Then send us your best Halloween costume photo. We have all kinds of treats in our candy sack, sponsored by Zip Lost Pines, including the grand prize of a weekend staycation from Springhill Suites by Marriott (San Antonio Northwest at the Rim). The winners will also be featured in our Halloween weekend issue - but you have to get your entry in today, Oct. 27.

All you have to is send your hi-rez photos to halloween@austinchronicle.com. You can find more details on our contest page.
