SXSW Interactive taps space whiz Elon Musk for second keynote address
By Kimberley Jones, 2:45PM, Thu. Nov. 8, 2012
Elon Musk, the cofounder of PayPal, CEO and Product Architect at electric vehicle producer Tesla Motors, and founder/chief designer at SpaceX, will deliver one of the four keynote addresses at the 2013 SXSW Interactive Festival. He joins previously announced speaker Matthew Inman of the Oatmeal.
You could throw any number of appellations at Musk: entrepreneur, innovator, sustainable energy mover and shaker, a guy with stars in his eyes. No, really: SpaceX is a leading force in private space exploration, and just last month its Dragon spacecraft docked with the International Space Station with fresh supplies (and returning with cargo, too). But let’s be frank: The single thing the general public will find most especially cool about the South African born Musk? Tony Stark – the Iron Man movie version, at least – was based on him.
The 2013 SXSW Interactive runs March 8-12. For more new programming announcements, go here.
