By Kimberley Jones, 7:40AM, Sun. Mar. 13, 2011
Happy New Year, a narrative feature competition film that premiered yesterday, will have some special guests in the audience at today’s first of two encore screenings.
Film critic Elvis Mitchell (of KCRW’s The Treatment) will be on hand at the 4pm screening to conduct a post-film Q&A with the filmmakers. Local Texas veterans, as well as Allen Bergeron of the City of Austin’s Veteran’s Affairs will be on hand for the film, which is about the coming-home process for a physically and mentally scarred vet of Iraq and Afghanistan.
The screening takes place today (Sunday), March 13, 4pm at the SXSatellite venue, Regal Westgate. An additional screening goes down today at 8:30pm at Alamo Lamar.
