Glossy by Kind Clinic Offers Gender-Affirming Aesthetic Treatments

New non-surgical services help affirm gender and image

If your Instagram Reel watch data looks anything like mine, then non-surgical aesthetic treatments are a well-known phenom.

Having recently received their LGBT Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting and had June 11 declared “Glossy Day” by Council Member José Velásquez, sexual health and gender-affirming services provider Kind Clinic is bringing those treatments directly to their patients. New gender-affirming skincare/image clinic Glossy by Kind Clinic offers not only a host of curated name-brand treatments like Botox and Juvederm but also access to experts who can help guide patients on their aesthetic journey.

Chief Advancement Officer Juan Benitez explains that Glossy’s origins lay in feedback from Kind Clinic’s patient base. “After listening to the patients we serve and understanding their lived experiences, it became clear that there was a need in our community for this type of care,” he recalls. He’s not wrong: Trans and gender noncomforming folks often seek out services outside of surgery to enhance feminine or masculine characteristics. That desire, of course, is shared by people outside the trans community. “Our aesthetic treatments cater to those undergoing gender transition as well as individuals seeking to enhance their appearance and boost self-confidence,” Benitez says.

“While some spaces may be LGBTQIA+ friendly,” Benitez emphasizes, “when it comes to someone’s aesthetic treatments and healthcare needs, we underscore the need to be LGBTQIA+ affirming. In order to provide a safe and affirming space, providers must understand and respect the unique lived experiences of queer individuals.”

Repeated over and over in descriptions of Glossy is the phrase “diversity in beauty.” After the third time you read it, a question occurs to the curious queer – what exactly does “diversity in beauty” represent to the folks behind this new Kind Clinic concept? “At Glossy, ‘diversity in beauty’ means we are no longer conforming to the conventional beauty standards that encourage individuals to fit within a specific box or image,” Benitez says. “Rather than framing aesthetic services as treatments to ‘fix’ or ‘correct’ issues and concerns, we aim to affirm our clients and help guide them through finding treatments that address their unique needs and image goals.”

So: Just what can you access by going Glossy? Right now the clinic has summer specials through July 31 for treatments including lip and dermal fillers, laser treatments, and microneedling. Benitez also enthuses over new June beauty menu addition Forever Bare Broadband Light, which helps in laser hair reduction. He adds that as the program continues forward, Kind Clinic plans to “unveil new financing options, further reducing financial hurdles and enhancing accessibility to these essential treatments for everyone who needs them.”

Interested in learning more, seeing the facilities, and generally enjoying a little party? Kind Clinic throws their Glossy grand opening this Friday, June 21, at their Round Rock location on 2800 S. I-35 Frontage Rd., Ste. 215-A from 6-8pm.
