The AggreGAYtor: June 30
What happened today in gay? Here’s your QILTBAG recap of queer news.
By David Estlund, 2:00PM, Mon. Jun. 30, 2014

President Obama gays up Texas' courts, SCOTUS shoves HobLob down our throats, and the RCC makes family life less appealing, as your AggreGAYtor proclaims, "Judy stays."
The Good
Texas may soon have its first gay federal judge.
Activists are working hard at Texas Pride events to queer the vote.
California celebrates the anniversary of the fall of Proposition 8.
Santa Fe Pride celebrates newfound marriage rights, but the city has lost its only gay baar.
Can we get the marriage thing finished quickly, so we can move on to actual queer issues?
Oh, OK. One more: New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu has moved from civil unions to support for full marriage equality.
Friday was National HIV Testing Day; find local resources here.
Orlando has a new family friendly (less cruisy) LGBTQ week-long event called Outfest.
Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist comes out for marriage equality.
The Bad
Indiana newlyweds have suddenly found themselves in legal limbo.
“If married life is as boring and joyless as this [Synod Working Paper], I am glad I am celibate.”
The LDS Church has opted not to excommunicate an LGBTQ activist… for now.
The Fugly
Money is speech, contraceptives are abortifacients, and Hobby Lobby is a person, but its lady employees are apparently less so. Justice Ginsberg, however, has done queer folk a solid in the process.
SF Weekly made a transphobic whoopsie with a tone-deaf Pride issue cover.
It Came from the Tubes
