The AggreGAYtor: November 20

What happened today in gay? Here’s your QILTBAG recap of queer news.

Boehner and half the Cheneys can't see past their own noses, the Trans Day of Remembrance happens tonight, and queer homeless youth start making the news, as your AggreGAYtor's little town blues start melting away.

The Good

Transgender Day of Remembrance will be observed tonight at 7pm at Austin City Hall.

A Catholic school has postponed a presentation by a quack therapist hack priest.

A judicial challenge to Pennsylvania’s marriage ban is making progress through the courts.

The BBC’s freshest (hottest?) Moriarty has come out in opposition to Russia’s anti-gay laws.

The Bad

Forty percent of homeless youth are queer; we don’t have numbers for Texas specifically, but at least we’re paying attention.

There are more LGBTQ folk out there than we realize, but also more haters. In D.C., doubly so.

Can we stop with the “snip, snip” jokes? Transgender people have real health needs, and ignorance has real health repercussions.

The Fugly

The Cheney meltdown is just another echo of the Gingrich meltdown. Even when it’s family, some people can’t accomodate and deal with reality.

Regarding ENDA, House Speaker John Boehner can’t accommodate and deal with reality.

We wouldn’t be surprised if these Princeton men weren’t also some of the worst homophobes in New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s party.
