Realer and Queerer at Bernadette's
Get Real, Stay Queer
By Liz Williams, 12:57PM, Tue. Sep. 18, 2012
There's a new dance party in town and it's taking over Tuesday nights, bi-monthly at Bernadette's.
DJ Adzua, Ka Wolf, Mugzy Undemir and a host of others are heading up the new Tuesday night social and are keeping it focused on the queer community.
"This is a new dance party that's in the works," says DJ Adzua. "This coming Tuesday will be the first of many cooperatively queer parties."
They hope to bring out the queer crew that wants to dance, and to throw some well-deserved support to everyone's favorite queer dive bar.
"We are looking to not only provide a safe space to dance and have a good time, but to bring our community together," says Mugzy.
Mugzy's LezRide! is the organization attached to this Tuesday's shindig and they'll be bringing baked goods. Baked goods.
"The dance parties will benefit different projects and organizations throughout the community and will provide a fun space to dance while also a place to meet and form collaborations," says Mugzy.
LezRide! will be meeting at the Q (3408 West) at 6:30pm and go on a short bike ride to the party at Bernadette's, tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 18, 8pm.
If you are down for the whole haul, meet at the Q and go for the ride. Here's the map!
