The military is not enforcing DADT for now. Rachel Maddow breaks out a bottle of champers and breaks down the ins and outs of the Don't Ask Don't Tell fracas.
The policy has been stopped by a judge's decree. The military will not implement DADT. The Justice Department has appealed the ruling. Obama says the policy will end on his watch. Every one of these actions seems to contradict all the other ones. Rachel whips out a bottle of champagne and interviews a policy wonk.
Anytime RM pulls out a bottle and is not grinning wildly, you know something is up. Acting Solicitor General (1996-'97 under Clinton) Walter Dellinger makes the case that Obama's intentions are to make the final repeal of DADT stick, despite the recent appearance of cockblocking by his Justice Department. Cautious optimism, anyone?
