3,614 Is The Magic Number

Final day of early voting in AISD/ACC board elections

3,614 Is The Magic Number

Great news: If only 1,337 voters turn out today – the final day of early voting in the June 12 AISD/ACC elections – then a whole 1% of Austin voters will have made it out to the ballot box.

So far, the Travis County Elections Divisions is reporting 3,614 votes cast (that's 0.73% of registered voters) in the first seven days of early voting. Since that's the complete figure for Travis County, and so includes areas not covered by AISD, the turnout in the school district elections will be even smaller, meaning your vote will have a disproportionately large impact.

Polls close today at 7pm (click here for a PDF of locations) and, of course, you can still vote on election day (read our endorsements here: Spoiler alert, we backed Tamala Barksdale for AISD and Vic Villarreal for ACC.) Seriously, folks, what's your excuse?
