Annual fan fare keeps elderly cool
By Margaret Moser, 2:21PM, Fri. Jun. 22, 2012

KGSR’s annual Fan Fare Friday kicked off this morning, 8:30am, at Threadgill’s World Headquarters, but plenty's happening throughout the afternoon and well into the evening, and all for a terrific cause. The Summer Fan Drive benefiting Family Eldercare helps make sure senior citizens stay cool in the blistering heat.
For the last 22 years, the drive has provided portable fans, air-conditioning window units, and other critical services to Central Texans in need heat relief. More information on how to donate to this worthy cause is on their website.
The afternoon schedule looks like this:
3-3:30pm: Matt the Electrician
4-4:30pm: The Eric Tessmer Group
5-5:30pm - Jon Blondell, Denny Freeman & Frosty
6-6:30pm: Saints of Valory
KGSR’s Lone Star State of Mind live radio show broadcast:
9pm: Guns of Navarone
10:30pm: Bluebonnets w/ special guest
11:30pm: Black Bone Child
Plus, Fan Fare's yet another fine excuse to eat at Threadgill’s.
