Kid Stuff, Part I
U18 rockers gather to support HAAM
By Margaret Moser, 2:07PM, Fri. May 18, 2012

Nothing for the kids to do Sunday? Head to the Nutty Brown Cafe as five of Austin’s best under-18 bands crank it up in support of Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. Beginning at 3pm, Residual Kid, Unsocialized, Casino, Lithium Sun, and Only Human team up with Minor Mishap Marching Band for a suggested donation of $5.
It’s also time for the music camps to fill up. This might be one of the best things your kids can do during the summer, learning something they will carry all their lives. Natural Ear Music, School of Rock, Fernando Jones' Blues Camp, Red Leaf School, Ted Hall ... there are so many ways to give them the gift of music. A few weeks this summer will last them a lifetime.
A note to readers: Bold and uncensored, The Austin Chronicle has been Austin’s independent news source for over 40 years, expressing the community’s political and environmental concerns and supporting its active cultural scene. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue supplying Austin with independent, free press. If real news is important to you, please consider making a donation of $5, $10 or whatever you can afford, to help keep our journalism on stands.
