Uptown Sports Club and Meanwhile Brewing Co. Are Throwing a Backyard BBQ
Four-part series gathers pit & brew masters, chefs, live music

Summer is the absolute pits in Austin, so it takes something special to lure folks outdoors during daylight hours. A new series highlighting pitmasters, brewmasters, chefs, and live music might just fit the bill.
East Austin’s Uptown Sports Club and South Austin’s Meanwhile Brewing Co. announced today an upcoming four-part Backyard BBQ Summer Series, rotating between the two Austin faves’ locations. The series will feature, in alternating weeks, the handiwork of pitmasters Aaron Franklin (Uptown Sports Club, Franklin Barbecue) and Evan Leroy (Leroy & Lewis Barbecue, which recently announced the closure of its food truck to focus on the new brick & mortar); chefs Davis Turner (Huckleberry) and Fiore Tedesco (L’Oca d’Oro, Bambino); plus sweets from Tiny Pies and ice cream food truck Bésame and a limited canned edition of Meanwhile’s custom light lager that heretofore has flowed exclusively from Uptown’s taps.
Tickets for the series are $39 per person (merch is on sale already too). Each ticket will include two drinks (alcoholic or NA), two food items and dessert from Bésame and Tiny Pies. This event is open to all ages, and children 12 and under eat for free.
