Locktoberfest Brings a Stein Full of Bavarian Fun to Lockhart

Lockhart + Oktoberfest = Locktoberfest!

Prost! Here comes the first annual Locktoberfest, soon enough overflowing shops, bars, and restaurants in downtown Lockhart, Texas, bringing you the essence of world-famous Oktoberfest celebrations, combining traditional Bavarian culture with a local Texas twist.

Expect a weekend (Fri.-Sun., Oct 6-8) filled with music, German cuisine, an array of finely crafted imported and domestic Oktoberfest beers, German wine, and shopping that will “transport you to the lively streets of Munich.” Savor the flavors of Germany with mouth-watering fest foods, from homemade bratwurst by the Sausage Kings of Lockhart, pretzels and beer cheese, to German-themed pizza, schnitzel, and sauerkraut. Test the strength of your powerful thews at Masskrugstemmen, the traditional steinholding competition. Have a little Octobery fun, fellow Texan!

These three days of savory partying are an extension of Best Little Wine & Books’ two-week Oktoberfest pop-up, first hosted in 2022, in collaboration with the Lockhart Downtown Business Association. Yes, they’ve enlisted industry’s might to hoist high the stein of revelry for one and all, leveraging old-school culture into a delightful Germanic spectacle pleasing to friends and family alike. Did we say “Prost!” yet? Ah, hell, let’s say it again – and pass us that sudsy stein, mein freund:

Prost!
