The cops ain't gonna take my grass this time! (by Logan Youree)

Ahhhh ACL... What started as a modest little event to promote a public television show has expanded into one of the largest, most reputable music festivals in the United States. Sure there are tons of other music fests in Austin all the friggin' time but ACL has the unique identity of being huge but without the overwhelming flood of the music biz crowd.

It's much more of a festival for the people... people who can afford $185 tickets.

This year, despite the loss of a couple of big-time headliners (damn you cancer!), the lineup looks fantastic and the weather may actually be accommodating to people other than Burning Man regulars. Zilker park has a nice new lawn of grass which means that you might be able to leave those surgical/sars/swine-flu masks at home this year. They even sent out little promotions canisters of grow-your-own-grass complete with dirt and seeds. See mine in the attached photo! I'm so proud!

Ok, sounds great right? There is just one catch.... It's less than a week away and you don't have your tickets. Day tickets are already gone and the 3-day wristbands have been sold out since Reagan was in office.

Don't fret though because we've got your chance to win a 3-day wristband for free! All you got to do is check out our online contest page and fill it out and TA-DAA... you could be the lucky winner. All without paying a dime.

Click HERE to enter the contest today, we're drawing the winner soon!
