Tesla vs. Edison? Live And With Sparks A-Flying?

Yes: It's the Showdown at Unobtainium, coming soon

It's gonna be a big honkin' steampunk hullaballoo, O my droogs.

Out there in Dale, Texas, thirty minutes to the south of Austin, near the beginning of November: Lightning thieves and sky pirates and clockwork automata and aether-breaching velocipedes and enough brass-chased leather & lace to give Captain Nemo an aesthetic hard-on the size of the Nautilus.

It's the Showdown at Unobtainium,
and we're going to tell you more about it on Monday.

It's the local apotheosis of all things steampunk,
not to mention much ado about Nikola Tesla,
and we'll tell you more about steampunk in general right here.

And, the thing is, November's still a month away … but there's a partying fundraiser, a sort of live, music-enhanced, show-and-tell preview of the big event – and that is happening this Saturday nighttomorrow! – in the backyard of Amelia's Retro-Vogue.

You wanna rock to the well-meshing musical gears of Dr. Strangevibe?

You wanna mingle with other muttonchopped mountebanks and electroplated skirts in an atmosphere of cavalier anachronism?

You wanna hear Sam Tyler and Maggie Duval give you the low-down on the Showdown while you swig some of Tyler's homebrewed ales?

Better click here right now, because, as Alan Moore once mumbled (albeit in an entirely different context):

"I believe ... the culture ... is turning to steam."

HUZZAH!
