According to Laure McLaughlin, an energy analyst with the Texas Comptroller's Office, 50% of the all of the energy produced in Texas (from 17 sources of energy) is consumed by industry. The national average is about 32%. And Texas accounts for about 11.5% of all energy consumption nationally.
