Inside the Vintage Framing Studio’s workshop lies a sea of colorful mat options and even more vintage frames in all shapes and sizes. It’s momentarily overwhelming. But then Jennifer swoops in, calmly laying out your prized item-to-be-framed. She looks at it, talks through what she sees, and then gets to work pulling out frame after frame, mat color after mat color, from the walls of her garage studio. Until, at last, she finds the perfect match and asks what you think. “It’s perfect,” you say, as you worriedly think about how much such thoughtful service will cost. But when the bill comes, you breathe a sigh of relief.
