All it takes is five families each to pitch in just $40 or turn over an old gas mower for recycling. In return, they share the new mower, the maintenance costs, and the global-warming-fighting glory while cutting expenses. Johnson's 2010 program has ended, but he's always happy to share info on coordinating your own group trade-in if you don't want to wait till next year.
