Witness here an array of life-sized and larger works recently created by Meena Matocha, the artist having wielded charcoal, ashes, soil, acrylics, and wax to create paintings that "combine abstraction and figuration, exploring the space between grief and joy, the place where heaven and earth converge."

Ground Floor Theatre and Deaf Austin Theatre are holding auditions for this Tony-winning musical, to be directed by Lisa Scheps and Brian Cheslik for performances in December. This production will be fully deaf inclusive, with each character double-cast with a deaf actor and a hearing actor (some characters are deaf and some hearing). Susan Scafati's solo exhibition spans three floors and features work (photoprints, sculpture, hand-embellished documents) that expands on the artist's exploration of the ways in which individual identities and mythologies are constructed. And, ah, we love what that Calder Kamin does, and the library's also got a new showcase of her work, "What a Mess," featuring trash transformed into sculptures, animations, and installations, commenting on the mess humans have made for our natural neighbors throughout our existence.

Social Cycling Austin presents Bikin' Betties, a weekly, beginner-friendly, all-ladies bike ride that ends with drink specials and fun activities (karaoke, minigolf, outdoor movies, etc.) Along the way, bond with other two-wheelin' ladies. Join the Facebook group for ride details.

BSOM University offers a six-course roster of classes centered around cultural contributions of minority groups in America and around the world, from poetry in the Middle East to counterculture America and the Vietnam War. The instructors include local artists, business owners, cultural archivists, and one UT staff affiliate.
