      Twin Peaks Craft Night

Love Twin Peaks? Ever heard of needle felting? For $38, Radio/East will screen David Lynch’s TV-changing classic while a team of experts teaches you how to craft your own wool sculptures. It’s choose-your-own-adventure style, so attendees can either lean into the tone-jumping series’ sci-fi nightmare and felt a not-what-they-seem owl, or enjoy its quirky, small-town soap opera vibes by making a slice of cherry pie. Supplies are included, and all skill levels are welcome. Damn fine! – Carys Anderson

      Gay Heat

God, but it’s hot out here. How’s about we attend to some more attractive heat – like, say, the absolute barn-burner of a lineup at Happy Heat’s Equality Texas benefit? The magazine/content label partners with Still Austin for a party featuring such acts as Brigitte Bandit, Lord Friday the 13th, Subpar Snatch, and Vertarias. But that’s not all: Feels So Good’ll be there with a merch pop-up, as will tattooist Hayes/holyplanet66, serving flash tats to the willing and bare-fleshed. – James Scott

      Marriage Equality Week

Nine years ago, a Supreme Court ruling made same-sex marriage legal in the U.S. of A. While progress has been up and down since then – oof, actually it’s been more down than up – the historic moment marked a turning point for the queer community legislatively. As the office who issued Texas’ first gay marriage license, the Travis County Clerk’s Office celebrates the 2015 ruling with a whole week of free wedding ceremonies. Check countyclerk.traviscountytx.gov for further details on marriage license deadlines, specific locations, and other bureaucratic minutiae – and I’ll bring the rice! – James Scott

      Mend Mania

With crochet being a hot girl hobby now, it’s clear the textile arts are no longer – maybe never were? – just a household chore. Mending clothing with patchwork or darning not only strengthens, but also adds adornment and interest to an otherwise basic piece. Plus, Dougherty Arts Center says, quoting queer publication them., “needlepoint is likely the campiest art form in human history.” This Wednesday, DAC’s Cidnye Stott teaches a mending class à la Pride Month, “queering the idea of fabric and thread itself … Textile Arts have a deep thread interwoven with Queer history, from challenging gendered connotations to demanding visibility from those around them.” The event is free, and though you’re recommended to bring your own supplies, DAC will have some on hand. – Lina Fisher

      Pixies, Modest Mouse, Cat Power

After spending the summer of 2023 selling out venues across the country, indie rock stalwarts the Pixies and Modest Mouse decided to launch another leg of their co-headlining tour in 2024, alongside Cat Power. There is relatively little new stuff to peddle: The Pixies have two singles out, and there was just a 20th anniversary expanded version of Good News for People Who Love Bad News. All that means fans can expect the hits from three artists who helped define three decades between them. – Abby Johnston

Sabrina Ellis, Sydney Wright, Sisi, Kalu James

Ain’t no party like a Sabrina Ellis party, because a Sabrina Ellis party has pipes. A Giant Dog’s frontperson has curated a free songwriter series at Radio/East throughout June, concluding with Ellis’ birthday show. The lineup reflects the eclectic spirit of the series, one night spanning the psych funk of Kalu James, lush summer grooves from Sisi, and Sydney Wright’s earnest pop. The through line? Impressive vocals will be front and center. – Abby Johnston

      The Lehman Trilogy

Calling all lovers of intergenerational family tales – maybe a niche crowd, but definitely a good one. Zach presents to you The Lehman Trilogy, winner of five Tony Awards. One of those Tonys? Best Play. Decide whether it deserved the honors, all while following the infamous Lehman family from their arrival in America through the 1900s until their infamous financial firm (spoiler alert) collapsed in 2008. If you miss Succession but wished it had just a smidgen more early 20th century immigration struggle and concrete financial crisis, you’ve got to check this out. – Cat McCarrey
