Ever felt like you don’t fit in? There’s a short film in production in Austin that knows exactly how you feel, and guess what? You can be part of the community that helps get it made.
Who’s raising the funds?
Austin filmmaker Kelli Horan for her new short “A Grievance With Gravity.”
What’s the project?
Zoe (Kelsey Thomas, who starred in Horan’s first film as a writer, Summer League) is struggling to deal with a big problem: Gravity no longer applies to her. This may sound cool, but when you have to wear breezeblocks on your feet instead of things, being different can stop being fun really fast. The film features a coterie of local talent in front of and behind the camera, including editor Phillip Lybrand (director of The Trolls and Maybe Shower), producer Elena Weinberg (director, A Room Full of Nothing), and actor/professional wrestler Ricky Starks (currently headlining the revived NWA Powerrr).
Target:
The team is just under halfway to raising their goal of $4,850 by Sunday, Dec. 15. Most of the budget will go to pay the cast and crew, but if anyone wants to help with catering, there’s a hungry production that needs feeding.
