Two of Austin’s most unconventional creatives will be hitting your TV screens tonight, starring on two very different reality series – but both will be showing off their unique artistic eye.

First off, local special effects artist, and Austin’s uncrowned horror king, Matt Valentine has made it all the way to the final episode of the final season of Face Off, SyFy’s movie makeup and practical prosthetic extravaganza.
Valentine was one of the stand-out artists in season two, but came up short just before the finale. But in this all-star reunion’s last hurrah, he’s made it to the final three: with two wins under his belt this season, will he truly be the last artist of gore standing? Tune in to SyFy, 8pm Central, to see what unfurls from his mind in a double-length challenge drawing from Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There.

But the ATX TV excitement doesn’t end there. Flip the channel over to NBC for the first episode of Making It, the new crafts show hosted by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. If you do, it’ll be your first chance to catch Austin’s own Khiem Nguyen, talented woodworker and owner of A & K Woodworking & Design, in action. See him take on the first challenge at 9pm central.
