What, those savory pies aren’t enough to get you to haul your hungry carcass to Meanwhile? How about this news: Emmer & Rye Hospitality chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph has teamed up with Bésame Ice Cream to create two limited flavors to celebrate their first anniversary. Together, they’ve developed two sundaes using the famous Henbit Monster Cookie and Canje’s beloved Black Cake. Have you experienced Bristol-Joseph’s talented takes on culinary excellence? Of course, Hi Sign Brewing is launching their brand new taproom and production facility this weekend, too, so how’s your FOMO doing, beer-lover?
We hear that Texas Hill Country Wineries members won more than just a fistful of medals at the TEXSOM International Wine Awards this year, earning five platinum medals, two gold, 28 silver, and 43 bronze among all the glories of the grape. Kinda makes a citizen wanna revisit the Hill Country Wine Trail sometime soon, y’think?
Speaking of awards, the Texas Restaurant Association announced nominees for its coveted Texas Restaurant Awards, and the year’s winners will be revealed during this weekend’s Texas Restaurant Show up there in Dallas…
That keto-forward Michael Silverstein has teamed up with Biocoach to present a night of food, fun, and philanthropy on Sat., July 9, starting at 8pm at the Eleanor (307 W. Fifth) – where you can dance, mingle, snack on tasty creations by the MasterChef maestro himself, and enjoy drag performances hosted by the incomparable Nadine Hughes. Bonus: 100% of the ticket sales will benefit Equality Texas.
We told you that Provision Dining House (4600 W. Guadalupe) recently reopened in the Triangle after having been shuttered for two pandemic years, remember? Addendum: That powerhouse of delicious vittles has brought back their Sunday brunch, with full service available from 10am to 3pm.

And, finally, who won last week’s annual Garrison Brothers Bourbon Brawl, as the competitors battled it out at the happily crowded Fair Market event center? None other than Albert Pero from New York City, that’s who. The talented and affable bartender showed off three unique cocktails – the Linzy, the Hill Country Honeycomb, and the BD4 – which wowed the judges and won him $10,000, an entire barrel of bourbon for his personal consumption, and endless bragging rights. And – say what? Why, yes, Pero was the one we were rooting for; reckon this year’s judges knew what’s what, hey?
