LOVE & MARRIAGE Today, Thursday, Feb. 12, is Freedom to Marry Day. Think about that freedom, especially those of you who have it. For those of us who don’t, now is a good time to bone up on the rights we do have. One of those rights is to gather. May we recommend Join the Impact? Its website (www.jointheimpact.com) touts lots of opportunities to gather and express yourself and to meet like-minded justice-loving queer and queer-friendly folk who just want us all to get along. Another right is the right to equal representation. May we recommend Equality Texas (www.equalitytexas.org)? Spring is the organization’s time to hit the Lege big time, and its once-every-two-years Lobby Day is coming up March 2. It happens to fall on Texas Independence Day. Why not express your independent Texas spirit, and check out what it takes to lobby your representative? Keep an eye on upcoming Community Listings for more info, and check the Valentine’s listings for events of queer-interest on and around luv day.
