After UT announced the re-scheduling of several Longhorn match-ups this weekend, Austin ISD has cancelled or re-scheduled a series of sporting events.

The Westwood Volleyball Tournament, all subvarsity football and all cross country meets have been cancelled. Eight Friday night football matches (LBJ @ New Braunfels Canyon, Crockett @ South San Antonio, Anderson @ Georgetown, Bowie v. Hays @ Nelson Field, McCallum @ Drippings Springs, Austin High v. Westwood @ House Park, Akins @ Hutto, and Lanier @ St. Michaels) and all volleyball match-ups have all been moved to Thursday (that’ll be tonight.)

UPDATE: This just in from Bastrop ISD:

All Freshman and JV football games scheduled for Thursday, September 11 are cancelled.

All Freshman, JV and Varsity volleyball games scheduled for Friday, September 12 are cancelled.

The varsity football game versus Killeen Shoemaker will be played on Thursday, September 11 at Erhard Field beginning at 7:00 p.m.

And anyone planning to go downtown in Austin tomorrow night for the parade for the Olympians, stay home, because it’s been cancelled.
