Rewind! Last October, the Rhinestone Cowgirls ripped the Calvello Cup from 2010 league champs the Cherry Bombs. Now the banked-track Roller Derby rivalry re-ignites, as the green-clad bombers try to reclaim what they think is rightfully theirs. Last year’s silver medal winners shook off April’s loss to the Holy Rollers with a big win over the Putas del Fuego in May. But those same Putas have already branded the Cowgirls this season. Will the Cherry Bombs blow up the champs’ hopes for a repeat performance? Or will the Cowgirls sharpen their spurs on their old enemies? Sat., July 7, 7pm. Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd. $13 advance; $15 door. www.txrd.com.
