And so the 2012 TXRD regular season comes to an end. This year, the local banked-track Roller Derby league dropped the Lonestar from their name, but the feuds remain the same. With one bout left, it’s time to settle the final seeding before title ambitions take over. 2011 champs the Rhinestone Cowgirls couldn’t get back in the saddle early, but back-to-back wins have seen them shine again. The Holy Rollers looked dominating early on, but a June defeat at the claws of the Hellcats left a few scars. Both teams are rolling on a 2-1 record. Whoever wins this weekend heads straight to the Calvello Cup on Oct. 6. Whoever loses gets another shot with a playoff bout against the Hellcats on Aug. 25.

Sat., Aug. 4, 7pm. Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Rd. $13, advance; $15, door. www.txrd.com.
