There’s always something strange about giving results for pro wrestling. (Yes, we know, it’s scripted. Move along now.) But fans of wrestling are still interested especially when its an untelevised house show, like last Thursdays TNA Wrestling event at the Travis County Expo Center. That’s where matches can get switched out quickly, to test out possible future feuds, adapt to shifting storylines, or just give the crowd something a little special. That’s why the main event switched last minute from Christian Cage versus Booker T to Booker against Robert Roode, and Christian against the stiff-hitting Samoa Joe.
TNA’s unique six-sided ring leads to some innovative off-the-rope chain wrestling, like the carefully choreographed clothesline exchanges between the Motor City Machine Guns and the tag team of Elix Skipper and Johnny Devine. (On the downside, the compact hexagon it creates almost led to our fearless photographer getting wiped out a couple of times as he stuck his lens between the ropes.)
